The desire to communicate with large audiences is inherent in me. I first learned it with print journalism and then with performing arts on stage. Think, communicate, show and do - both in scene design and experience design.
At the outset of my directing career, as all young directors, I was heading productions in all kinds of circumstances.
Here I'm directing a 30-minute b&w fiction called "Parks" in the Kaivopuisto park on a cloudy day in the fall, in my hometown Helsinki
Then I got indoors! Over the years, I've directed over 40 shows in Europe and the US and generated a ton of positive press for my productions - and many happy faces in the audiences.
I have designed theatrical experiences for audiences with drama, musicals, operas and award-winning TV shows with a lot of success at box office.
No matter how good shows you create on stage, in the center of a theatrical experience is the audience and their imagination. As in the center of UX is the user.
A show is directed for audience and their imagination fills the storyline on stage- as a digital experience is designed for the user. That's how directing theater ties into designing UX.
Take a little tour to have a closer look at my stage work.
Rooted in the world of dramatic performance, I'm bringing the same attention to detail and full emotional experience to users of my digital designs that my shows have always offered to their audiences.
